Bitkey Launches Emergency Exit Kit for Moving Bitcoin Without an App
Bitkey has unveiled an Emergency Exit Kit that allows users to transfer funds to another wallet without the need for an app or server. This feature serves as a tool used when the blockchain and the Bitkey app are not operational, enabling users to sign transactions with their app key and hardware key to move Bitcoin. Bitkey adopts a 2-of-3 multisig structure, dividing the app key, hardware device, and server key for secure storage. Users can move Bitcoin without relying on the server key through their app key and hardware key. The Emergency Exit Kit is automatically generated during wallet setup and is updated if the key set changes. This feature requires Bitkey hardware and an Android NFC device, and it is not available in iOS environments. Bitkey enhances security through multisig and cloud backup instead of a seed phrase, and it is also developing coin control features based on user demand. The Emergency Exit Kit operates only when all conditions are met, and its use is limited in actual emergency situations if the cloud PDF and hardware device are not prepared.
