British Man Recovers Lost Bitcoins Worth $5 Million
A man from the United Kingdom, known only as Chris, has regained access to his bitcoins that were lost over 12 years ago, becoming a multimillionaire. He lost access to his cryptocurrency wallet in 2014 after the bankruptcy of the trading platform Intersango, where he had stored around £4,000 (approximately $5,400). After unsuccessful attempts to contact the former owners of the platform, Chris turned to the courts in 2026. A legal team specializing in cryptocurrency recovery was able to restore his balance, which now stands at £3.3 million (about $5 million). Despite his success, Chris remains cautious about potential threats from hackers. He plans to convert part of his wealth into cash while keeping some in cryptocurrency, particularly for purchasing a larger home for his family.
