ERC-8196 Standard Finalized, Supporting AI Agent Wallet Strategy Execution
The ERC-8196 standard has reached its final state, defining the transaction execution interface for strategy binding in AI Agent wallets. This standard has been jointly published by Chris Johnson, co-founder of Virtuals Protocol, and Leigh Cronian, founder of Cybercentry, and is now available for developers to adopt officially. The wallet executes transactions only when operating with cryptographic proofs that comply with the asset owner's pre-set strategies. ERC-8196 serves as the second layer of the Agent trust system, working in conjunction with the first layer, ERC-8126. Before execution, it is necessary to check the latest risk score; if the score exceeds the set threshold, execution is denied. The strategy fields include authorized Agent addresses, allowed operation types, contract whitelists and blacklists, and transaction limits. Authorization is bound through EIP-712 structured signatures to prevent cross-strategy replay. The standard introduces a hash-chain audit log and an entropy commitment mechanism, recommending the implementation of proactive containment mechanisms for rapid response to strategy violations. The standard is compatible with ERC-4337 account abstraction wallets and supports traditional credential delegation methods. Security recommendations indicate that if sanctioned funds or connections to malicious addresses are detected, the wallet should refuse or revoke the delegation.
