Iran's Foreign Ministry Responds to Attack on US Military Base, Vows Strong Retaliation Against Military Aggression
On August 31, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the Iranian armed forces launched an attack on a US military base in Jordan in response to the US attack on Qarak Island. The Iranian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Iranian armed forces will not hesitate in exercising their right to self-defense and will respond appropriately and decisively to any military aggression by the enemy. The US attack on Qarak Island violates Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, clearly contravening the United Nations Charter, and calls on the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General to fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security and to hold the aggressor accountable. The Iranian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the US and all parties supporting its military actions bear full responsibility for the consequences of the escalation of the situation. Additionally, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that the US base in Jordan is used to launch and support attacks on Qarak Island, and the new acts of aggression and the consequences of the maritime blockade and economic warfare imposed on Iran are entirely the responsibility of the US and all parties involved in planning and executing these actions.
