Ledger Attacker Deposits 2,990 ETH into Tornado Cash and Cross-Chain to ZEC
From October 9 to 10, attackers related to the Ledger hardware wallet deposited 2,990 ETH into Tornado Cash, valued at approximately $7.45 million. Monitoring data shows that the attackers previously dispersed the related funds to 14 addresses, and then converted the funds cross-chain to the ZEC network through NEAR Intents, while also implementing privacy protection measures. There are signs of address association during the fund transfer process, with some withdrawal transactions reusing deposit wallet addresses, while other withdrawal transactions were initiated by wallets associated with the addresses that paid the gas fees when the funds were stolen, aiding researchers in tracking the flow of funds.
