NVIDIA to Complete $1 Billion Investment in Naver on November 6
NVIDIA plans to complete a $1 billion investment in South Korean internet company Naver on November 6, which will make it the third-largest shareholder of Naver. This capital increase comes after Naver has secured at least $9 billion in computing infrastructure investment funds. Naver will determine the number of common shares allocated to NVIDIA through a rights offering on November 3. The payment date for the investment has been adjusted to November 6, and the new shares are expected to be listed on November 27. After the investment is completed, NVIDIA's shareholding ratio will be approximately 4.54%. According to data from August this year, the largest shareholder of Naver is the National Pension Service of Korea, holding 9.49%, while the second-largest shareholder is BlackRock, holding 7.31%. Naver's founder and chairman Lee Hae-jin was previously the third-largest shareholder, holding 4.03%, but after the issuance of new shares, his stake is expected to decrease to about 3.84%. Relevant documents indicate that NVIDIA's allocated new shares have a one-year sale restriction, with an issue price of 204,500 KRW per share, and the final number of shares issued will be determined based on the exchange rate on November 3.
