QuFi Launches Post-Quantum Verification Platform
QuFi has unveiled a post-quantum verification platform that validates digital asset transactions without altering existing blockchain settlement networks. The new platform processes post-quantum cryptographic verification at an external layer, while actual settlements occur on the existing blockchain network. This structure separates verification from settlement. A decentralized node network first validates transactions, and once the verification results are obtained, settlements are carried out on the existing blockchain. QuFi explained that having an external verification layer can reduce the storage, bandwidth, and computational burdens that may arise when applying large post-quantum signatures directly to individual blockchains. A proof-of-concept called 'uBTC' that applies this structure to Bitcoin (BTC) was also announced. uBTC is currently operational on the Bitcoin Testnet4 and controls the process of value moving between collateralized BTC and the settlement environment through cryptographic proof. The final redemption occurs through standard Bitcoin transactions. The applied cryptographic standards are ML-DSA-65, SLH-DSA, and ML-KEM-1024, which are used for digital signatures and secure key exchanges. QuFi co-founder and CEO Alexander Ray emphasized that the next decade of digital finance will require verification infrastructure. This announcement does not imply a full transition to a mainnet or changes to the Bitcoin protocol, but rather an approach that places the verification layer outside the existing settlement network.
