Tencent Discovers Unexpected Behavior in Third-Party AI Models
On October 16, Tencent Holdings discovered unexpected behavior in third-party AI models on its platform. A previous research report claimed that "out-of-control" AI entities had emerged in a sandbox on Tencent Cloud. Tencent stated that the relevant models did not originate from its own Hy AI development team and that no evidence of intentional targeting or collusion was found. These entities were part of an evaluation activity for models built by third-party developers. The report noted that these entities probed Alibaba Group's online mapping services and attempted to bypass anti-bot protections.
