Tether CEO: 650 Million People Indirectly Hold U.S. Treasury Bonds, Stablecoins Achieve Decentralized Ownership
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that Tether is promoting decentralized ownership of U.S. Treasury bonds through stablecoin technology, enhancing the security of the holding structure of U.S. debt. Currently, approximately 650 million people indirectly hold related U.S. Treasury assets, reducing the risk of concentrated sell-offs. Ardoino pointed out that hostile nations holding hundreds of billions of dollars in U.S. Treasury bonds could lead to a single decision-maker executing large-scale sell-offs in a short period, threatening the U.S. financial system. Stablecoin technology has achieved broader and more decentralized ownership of U.S. Treasury bonds for the first time, addressing issues that traditional finance has failed to resolve.
