Three Men Jailed for Home Invasion Attempting Crypto Theft
Three men have been jailed for breaking into a man's home in Bristol, England, and assaulting him in a failed cryptocurrency theft. Terroll Paul, 31, Mohamed Samagassi, 37, and Pierre Madzou, 30, forced their way into the victim's home on May 15, demanding a large amount of digital currency. The victim suffered a significant head injury requiring hospital treatment. The victim's teenage sister alerted police, leading to the arrest of all three men at the scene. They pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary in August and were sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on October 15. Paul received six years, Madzou five and a half years, and Samagassi five years in prison. The victim stated that the incident has changed his personality, making him feel tense and apprehensive. The police did not disclose the amount of cryptocurrency demanded. This case is part of a trend of 'wrench attacks' in the UK, where criminals target cryptocurrency holders. In the first half of 2026, such attacks resulted in losses of 124 million dollars globally, a twelvefold increase from the previous year.
