tZERO Partners with ICE, Secures Investment and Blockchain Patent License
tZERO announced that the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) has agreed to participate in its latest funding round and has obtained a license to use tZERO's blockchain patent portfolio. This portfolio includes 23 patent families, totaling 103 patents, covering core aspects of the security token lifecycle such as compliance-aware transfer logic, upgradeable smart contract frameworks, scalable corporate actions processing, and broker-level identity interoperability. The two parties have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with tZERO acting as a core design partner to assist in the development of digital transfer agent and broker infrastructure to support on-chain settlement operations on the trading platform. ICE plans to work with tZERO to establish standards for digital transfer agents, tokenized agents, and broker users on the platform. tZERO is expected to be designated as the certified digital transfer agent and user for the platform, and both parties will also evaluate the possibility of using tZERO's tokenized assets for collateral management within ICE's clearinghouse and its affiliates.
