Unemployment Benefit from ANSES in August: Amounts and New Changes
The Unemployment Benefit from ANSES will have new amounts starting in August 2026 as a result of the update to the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage (SMVM). This benefit is intended for workers who have lost their jobs for reasons beyond their control and serves to provide economic support while they seek new employment opportunities.
The increase modifies both the minimum and maximum amounts of the benefit, as both values are calculated based on the current SMVM. Thus, those who are already receiving the benefit or are eligible to apply will receive updated amounts during the next month.
In addition to meeting the requirements set by the regulations, interested parties must initiate the process within the timeframe established by ANSES and present the documentation that proves the termination of the employment relationship.
How much is received for the Unemployment Benefit in August 2026?
Starting in August, the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage will rise to $376,600, which serves as a reference for calculating the Unemployment Benefit. The regulations state that the benefit cannot be less than 50% of the SMVM, nor exceed 100% of that amount.
For this reason, the new minimum amount of the benefit will be $188,300, while the maximum amount will reach $376,600. The amount received by each beneficiary is equivalent to 75% of the best monthly, normal, and habitual remuneration from the six months prior to the termination of employment, always respecting those limits.
Who can apply for the Unemployment Insurance from ANSES?
The Unemployment Benefit is aimed at dependent workers covered by the Labor Contract Law who have been dismissed without cause, whose employment relationship has ended due to contract expiration or other reasons beyond their control as provided by law.
Additionally, applicants must meet the minimum contributions required by current regulations. The request must be made within 90 business days following the termination of the employment relationship to avoid losing the right to access the benefit.
How to process the application from My ANSES
The process can be initiated by logging into My ANSES, using the CUIL number and Social Security Key. From there, the beneficiary can complete the application and attach the documentation that proves the reason for the termination of employment.
Among the documents that may be required are the dismissal telegram, the official letter, or the expired contract, as applicable. Those who prefer to carry out the process in person can also request an appointment to be attended at an ANSES office.
Once the documentation is submitted, the agency will analyze the request and determine if the worker meets the conditions to access the benefit. If approved, ANSES will define the amount that the beneficiary will receive within the minimum and maximum limits in effect for August 2026.
Before starting the process, it is advisable to verify that personal data is updated in My ANSES and gather all necessary documentation. This will help expedite the evaluation of the file and reduce possible delays in granting the benefit.
