TON Legacy Bridge to End on September 1, 2026
The TON Legacy Token Bridge at bridge-v3.ton.org will permanently close on September 1, 2026. Wrapped Toncoin and bridge-based assets such as jUSDT, jUSDC, jDAI, and jWBTC in Ethereum (ETH) and BNB Smart Chain will be affected. According to the official TON documentation, the official bridge operated in the initial ecosystem is classified as legacy infrastructure, and new usage is not recommended. The target for closure is bridge-v3.ton.org, and notifications regarding the end of service and asset withdrawal will be displayed. Bitcoinist reported, citing TON Foundation materials, that the legacy bridge will be permanently decommissioned on September 1, and wrapped tones and related assets must be reverted to their original forms. If you hold wrapped tones in Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain wallets, you will need to revert them back to the TON network. If you have jUSDT, jUSDC, jDAI, jWBTC, or other jToken assets in your TON wallet, they must be reverted to Ethereum. The STON.fi Telegram channel has notified users of bridge-v3.ton.org to check their wallets. It has been advised that transfers will not be possible after September 1, and percentage-based transfer fees will be waived during the withdrawal period. The closure of the bridge is part of an existing infrastructure cleanup process, not due to hacking or failure, and the official TON documentation currently considers the bridge as legacy. Users must distinguish whether their assets are native TON or wrapped assets that have gone through the bridge, and this closure does not mean a complete halt of the TON network.
