U.S. House Passes Temporary Funding Bill to Avoid Government Shutdown
On September 1, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a temporary funding bill for the federal government to avoid a shutdown on October 1. The bill has been sent to President Trump for signing. The current funding budget for the federal government is set to expire on September 30. Previously, on August 8, the U.S. Senate passed a temporary funding bill with a vote of 90 in favor and 6 against, allowing most federal government agencies to operate at current funding levels until December 11.
